Red Ladder is a young people's theatre company based in Northern England. They support the development of new writing, commission theatre especially for young audiences and tour throughout the UK. They aim to make provocative theatre that contributes to social change and global justice.
The brief was to create an iconic identity that could be used by Red Ladder in a versatile and memorable way. Using the the letter E's to make up the ladder in the logo is simple and visually strong. Red seemed the obvious choice for a corporate colour - for very obvious reasons. The notion that the lats of the ladder represent the layers of society is in keeping with the companies pro-active stance on social change. The identity was applied to stationery, website, corporate brochure and promotional material.
